Double star cluster. Optical image of double star cluster NGC 1850 in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The main cluster is at centre, and is about 40 million years old. A younger cluster (lower right of centre) is only 4 million years old. The long red region is gas in supernova remnant N57D. This image was made by the 8.2m Very Large Telescope 'Antu' at the Cerro Paranal Observatory, Chile.
