It plays a key role in the control of locomotion, reward-motivated behaviour, learning, working memory, cognition, and emotion. In the brain, altered levels of dopamine activity are linked to Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, fibromyalgia, and amphetamine and cocaine addiction.
