Description
General practice doctor demonstra- ting asthma inhalers to an elderly woman patient. The doctor holds in her hand a Becotide aerosol inhaler. Becotide is a slow-acting corticosteroid drug which reduces the severity and frequency of asthma attacks. In this aerosol form it is inhaled into the lungs and may take a few days to have any effect. The blue case on the table contains a dispenser for Ventolin capsules. Ventolin (salbut- amol) can, as here, be inhaled in powder form. It is a fast acting bronchodilator drug. Ventolin can be used during an asthma attack for quick relief.
