First aerial disaster. Historical artwork showing the death of the French balloonists Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier (1754-1785) and Jules Romain (died 1785) after their Royal Balloon crashed near Boulogne, France, on 15 June 1785. This is considered the world's first aerial disaster.
