Description
CRISPR-Cas classification, illustration. Types of CRISPR-Cas systems showing their target nucleic acids. CRISPR-Cas protein complexes are used in genome engineering to cut DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). Here, genes are identified by colour, Cas family and, in some cases, by common name. Those encoding parts of the effector complexes are highlighted. Genes with multiple colours are multi-domain genes that can occur separately.
