Description
Concrete cracks. White deposits formed by lime efflorescence on the concrete wall of an old fort. Efflorescence is the loss of water (or a solvent) from a hydrated (or solvated) salt to the atmosphere on exposure to air. Here the deposits are produced by water leaching mineral salts into the surrounding area and then evaporating. It occurs most commonly through masonry cracks, forming a powdery white deposit.
