Description
White hole. Computer abstract artwork representing a white hole. White holes are imagined to be points where mass and energy seem to appear from nowhere, the opposite of the concept of a black hole. A popular theory has it that a black hole in one universe is linked to a white hole, either in the same or a parallel universe, by a 'wormhole'. Thus the matter drawn into the black hole would appear elsewhere being emitted by a white hole. Many people, however, find the mathematical description of this process highly suspect, or even fanciful, but the concept has found a place in some science fiction works.
