Artist's Description
Spiderlings. Cluster of newly hatched spiderlings in warning colours on a web. These juveniles are in the process of dispersing. Their bright yellow and black colouration makes them deliberately conspicuous to predators. Most poisonous or toxic animals display warning (aposematic) colours to indicate that if attacked, they will strike back in some way. In this case the spider flesh may be inedible, and once tasted will be avoided.
