Artist's Description

Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado. These ancient dwellings were built by the Anasazi, or Ancient Puebloan people, an ancestral Native American tribe. The Anasazi occupied this area of the southwest U.S between around 600 and 1300 AD. The ruins, situated beneath a cliff overhang, are the largest of five settlements found in the park. The Mesa Verde National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
