Artist's Description

Claudius (10 BC-54 AD), Roman emperor. Claudius reigned from 41 AD to 54 AD. He was the fourth emperor of the Roman Empire, ruling for 13 years. He became emperor after the assassination of his cousin and predecessor Caligula. The effective start of the conquest of Britain began under his rule. Photographed in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, Italy.
