Description
Cerebral infarction. Axial computed tomography (CT) scan through the brain of a 70-year-old man with an area of brain tissue death or cerebral infarction (dark grey, upper left). This has been caused by a lack of blood supply due to a blockage or narrowing of an artery, in this case, the middle cerebral artery. This is classified as an ischaemic stroke. The tissue affected here is in the front part of the cerebrum, in the brain's right hemisphere.
