Cattle on deforested land. These pastures were formerly cloudforest in Ecuador. This land was cleared using the slash and burn method, which involves felling trees and then burning off all the undergrowth. Although it allows locals to grow crops and raise livestock, this method is detrimental to the rich wildlife of the rainforest.
