Description
Dietician. Caricature from the 19th century of a physician (left) and his patient sitting at a table. The overweight doctor is eating a large meal whilst the patient holds a piece of paper recommending that he should live on a diet of tea and soup. The patient is commenting that the doctor is eating so quickly that he is not even chewing his food. The physician is replying that the patient should follow his written advice, and not follow how he acts. The instrument lying on the floor by the patient's chair (at lower right) is an enema syringe.
