Description
Copper millings are heated in a deflagration spoon. A gas jar is prepared and filled with oxygen. When the copper is starting to glow the spoon is inserted into the gas jar where it burns with a bright blue green flame. Heated copper metal reacts with oxygen to form black copper oxide on its surfaces.
