The buckyball molecule has 60 carbon atoms arranged in a spherical structure consisting of interlinking hexagonal and pentagonal rings. The graphene sheet is composed of hexagonally arranged carbon atoms linked by strong covalent bonds. Graphene is very strong and flexible. It transports electrons highly efficiently and may one day replace silicon in computer chips and other technology applications.
