Description
Brainstem. Computer illustration of a human brain with most of the left hemisphere removed, showing the brainstem (green). Front is at left. The brainstem is located right underneath the brain and is contiguous with the spinal cord. It provides the main source of motor and sensory nerve signals to the face and neck, via the cranial nerves. The nerve connections from the motor and sensory systems in the main part of the brain to the rest of the body also pass through the brainstem.
