Blue pincushion flowers (Brunonia australis) flowers, 19th-century illustration. This plant grows widely across Australia. This coloured copper engraving is by Austrian botanical illustrator Ferdinand Lucas Bauer (1760-1826), who did much work in Australia. This artwork based on a watercolour by Bauer, is part of Bauer's 'Illustrationes Florae Novae Hollandiae' (1813-14), from the collections held in the Botany Library at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
