Description
Coloured angiogram (blood vessel X-ray) of the left hand of a 51 year old male patient with a lack of blood supply (ischaemia) to the tip of the index finger. Part of the radial artery (across centre of palm from thumb) is occluded (obstructed) as are arteries in the index finger. Small areas of contrast in these arteries suggest the presence of blood clots (thrombi). Treatment is with anticoagulants (blood thinners).
