Banded mongoose (Mungos mungo) scavenging with the remains of a turtle dove which had been killed by a bird of prey. This species is commonly found in areas with many termite mounds, which are used as a source of food and housing. Their diet mainly includes insects (termites and larvae of beetles), centipedes, lizards, snakes, frogs and occasionally mice. Photographed in Etosha national park, Namibia.
