Army ant (Eciton hamatum) workers carrying a pupa and larva (translucent white) raided from another ant colony. Unlike most ant species, which prefer to be camouflaged, army ants are known for actively raiding and foraging in broad daylight by forming a wide trail, or column, that is highly visible. Photographed in the Amazon rainforest at Tiputini Biodiversity Research Station, Ecuador.
