Artist's Description

Illustration of the Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle. Three of these vehicles were used to explore the lunar surface during the Apollo 15, 16 and 17 missions. It was capable of transporting two astronauts and a maximum payload of 490 kilograms. It was 3.1 metres long, with a wheelbase of 2.3 metres. All three vehicles were left on the lunar surface.
