Apollo 12 photograph of an astronaut in front of the Lunar Landing Module. Apollo 12 was launched on 14 Nov, 1969, and was only the second US manned lunar landing mission. Astronauts Charles Conrad Jr. & Alan L. Bean both walked on the moon, collecting samples, taking pictures, investigating the Surveyor III spacecraft & setting up the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP). This was left behind to transmit information back to earth.
