Artist's Description
Composite image of the Apollo 11 Eagle lunar module landing on the moon, 21st of July 1969. Apollo 11 astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first humans to walk on the moon, while third crew member Michael Collins piloted the command spacecraft in lunar orbit. The Earth can be seen in the background. The mission was launched on the 16th of July 1969 and landed on the Moon on the 20th of July. The crew splashed down in the Pacific ocean on the 24th of July.
