Artist's Description
Airport construction. Builders laying tarmac during the construction of an airport on Montserrat. The island's original airport was destroyed by an eruption of the Soufriere Hills volcano, which has been continually erupting since 18 July 1995. This airport, named Geralds Airport and opened in July 2005, is located in the northern part of the island, which is protected from the volcano by a range of low hills.
