Description
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Fusarium incarnatum, an endophytic plant fungal pathogen of the mangrove plant (Aegiceras corniculatum). It also is a fungal pathogen of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) that causes black gill disease. Fusarium is a large genus of filamentous fungi widely distributed in soil and in association with plants. Most species are harmless saprobes, and are relatively abundant members of the soil microbial community. Magnification: x800 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
