Description
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the left shoulder of a 45-year-old female patient with calcified tendinitis in the rotator cuff tendon. Calcific tendinitis occurs when there is a build up of calcium deposits in a tendon, usually the rotator cuff tendon. Symptoms include sudden severe pain in the shoulder and restriction of movement in the shoulder. Treatment for calcific tendinitis includes rest, physiotherapy and a short course of non-steroidal medication.
