Home blood test kit for HIV/AIDS, positive result. A drop of blood is pipetted into the sample well of the test cassette, followed by several drops of diluent. After a short time, the blood moves along the test strip in the cassette and passes through a test line and a control line. The test line is impregnated with a reactant and will form a visible line if HIV-1/HIV-2 (human immunodeficiency virus) antibodies are present, indicating the subject has the HIV virus which causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). The control line is for comparison. If no test line appears, the result is negative.
