MODEL RELEASED. Elbow surgery. Surgeons using external fixation to repair the damaged head of a patient's radius (arm bone) in their elbow. This involves the use of external devices such as plates and pins (screws) attached to the arm in order to hold the broken bones in place so that they can heal. Here, they are fixing a plate inside the arm, which the external appliances will be attached to.
