Description
MODEL RELEASED. Android robot Cog with roboticist Brian Scassellati, standing by a mirror. The screens above Scassellati show what the robot can see. Cog, which is short for cognitive, has a visual system that allows it to make eye contact with humans and to track moving objects. It can also co-ordinate its visual and hearing systems to pinpoint a noise source. Cog was developed for research into Artificial intelligence (AI), but can also be used to study how humans learn through interactions with other people. Photographed at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
