Description
Faecal bacteria culturing. Stacks of petri dishes containing faecal bacterial cultures. The dishes contain an agar nutrient gel to enable bacteria from a stool sample to multiply and grow to form colonies. These can be counted, removed and analysed to help to diagnose the cause of an intestinal disorder. Bacteria responsible for intestinal disorders include E. Coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella.
