Description
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a salt crystal on spider silk. The cobweb was located along the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Saltwater spray from ocean condensed on spider web silk and crystallized on the silk fibres. Magnification: x1,400 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
