Artist's Description

Crossing over. Conceptual computer artwork of two chromosomes swapping genetic material prior to meiosis (production of gametes). This is a natural genetic process, known as crossing over, that occurs between homologous chromosomes. The recombination of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) increases the genetic variation in a population.
