Zirconia gemstone and silver ring. The gemstone is a cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide, containing the transition metal zirconium (Zr) combined with oxygen. The ring is a band of the precious metal silver (Ag), which is also a transition metal. Synthetic cubic zirconia, visually similar to diamond, is cheaper and is used as an alternative in jewellery and ornaments.
