Top down view of a vines rustic moth (Hoplodrina ambigua) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. A brown moth with distinctive kidney shaped markings on the wings. The flight period is May through to October with a double brood each year. This species is a member of the Noctuidae family and is found throughout the UK. The larval food plants are docks and plantains. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in July.
