Fluorescence light micrograph of the underside of a tree fern (Dicksonia antarctica) leaf. The blue capsules are spores, the reproductive cells of a fungus. The spores are produced in sori (yellow), which burst to release them into the environment. Magnification: x6.6 when printed at 10 centremetres wide.
