Observing the Sun in different wavelengths helps highlight different aspects of the sun's surface and atmosphere. From top left to bottom right, the first 3 images are from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI): dopplergram, magnetogram, and continuum (visible light at 617.3 nanometres, orange/yellow). The other 11 images are from the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA): 170nm (pink), 450nm (light green), 160nm (dark green), 30.4nm (orange), 17.1nm (gold), 19.3nm (bronze), 21.1nm (violet), 33.5nm (blue), 9.4nm (bright green), and 13.1nm (aqua).
