Description
Time-lapse image of the full Moon rising. The faint shadow on the lunar surface at bottom left is due to a penumbral lunar eclipse as the Moon passes through the faint outer shadow of the Earth. The pink band across top is the anti-twilight arch or Belt of Venus, and is caused by backscattering of refracted sunlight due to fine dust particles high in the atmosphere. Photographed from Juromenha, Alqueva Dark Sky Reserve, Portugal, 5th June, 2020.
