Description
MODEL RELEASED. Photographing evidence. Forensic scientist placing labels on a blood-stained dress before taking a photograph with the overhead camera. Each label shows the location and identification number of a piece of evidence recovered from the dress. The evidence may be linked to a suspect for the crime, and a detailed record of the investigation process is needed to provide what is called the chain of custody. This documents what happens to a piece of evidence, from its discovery at the crime scene to its use in a court of law. The protective clothing is used to prevent contamination of the evidence, and the ruler provides a scale for the image.
