Limpet Tongue #1 metal print by Steve Lowry. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description
Polarised light microscopy of the tongue, or radula, of the common limpet (Patella vulgata). The tongue is used to scrape algae of the surface of rocks. In life the radula is looped within the body and as each exposed section is worn down it is replaced by a new section. The teeth are formed from a histidine rich protein and are one of the hardest natural substances known. Magnification: x68 at 10cm wide.
