A VEGA test, known also as a vegetative reflex test, measures the concentration of certain compounds within the body. The homeo- path has racks of small tubes before him which contain homeopathic preparations of naturally occurring bodily substances. The homeopath takes electronic readings from these tubes and compares this with a reading from acupuncture points on the patient's foot. A reading indicating an excess of any compound in the body is used to indicate the nature of the patient's ailment. A homeopathic remedy may then be prescribed.
