Description
Radioactive research. Male technician handling a bottle of radioactive liquid in a sealed cabinet known as a glovebox. The gloves and glass help to protect the worker from any ionising radiation produced by the liquid. The materials enter the glovebox via the port at lower right. Ionising radiation can cause tissue damage and biological defects so contact must be kept to a minimum.
