Description
Light micrograph of mixed trabeculae generated in epiphyseal ossification. Unlike those formed in the epiphyseal, or growth plate cartilage, the mixed trabeculae of the epiphyseal ossification are not arranged parallel to each other, but are distributed randomly (although, globally, they maintain a radial orientation). Apart from that, we can clearly distinguish in them the specific components of these structures, such as the bluish centre of calcified cartilage, the external bone tissue stained with eosin and the row of osteoblasts.
