Drug research using insects. Researcher holding an elephant beetle (Megasoma actaeon) that has been frozen at minus 80 degrees centigrade in order to be investigated by drug research laboratories. It is hoped that biochemical examination of the insect's anatomy and physiology will lead to a new antibiotic drug compound. Photographed in Petit-Saut, French Guiana.
