Drug research. Close-up of a test tube being stirred with a vortex mixer in a pharmaceutical research and development laboratory. The pressure of the tube sets the rubber pad of the mixer vibrating at a speed set by the dial (lower right). This creates a vortex in the liquid in the tube, ensuring even and complete mixing. Photographed at a laboratory operated by AMRI Global, a company that provides drug discovery, development, and manufacturing services for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
