Description
MindSet brainwave-reading headset. Person wearing a Mindset brain-computer interface (BCI) headset developed by Neurosky Inc., San Jose, USA. The headset contains a single electroencephalogram (EEG) sensor. The sensor is placed in contact with the wearer's forehead and detects electrical activity produced by the brain. Signals are transmitted wirelessly to a computer where they are translated by software. The user can manipulate virtual objects on computer (such as the cartoon avatar in the background) with 'mind control' alone. This headset is designed to be used with computer games, but may have applications as a medical or therapeutic tool. Photographed in 2008.
