Description
Ancient grain store. An ancient Anasazi grain store, from about the 12th or 13th century AD, on a cliff high above the Colorado River in Utah, USA. At that time, this area was settled by native Americans of the Anasazi tribe, the ancestors of the modern Pueblo tribe. The Anasazi grew irrigated crops of maize, beans and squash in the valleys below their dwellings, and produced pottery and woven goods. Photographed in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA.
