Zinc rolling mills, 19th century. Illustration of workers and machinery in zinc rolling mills in Silesia. Silesia, now mostly in Poland, has been mined for numerous ores, including those of zinc. Artwork from volume 9 (1870) of a republication of 'Les Grandes Usines', a multi-volume work on French industry by journalist and author Julien Turgan (1824-1887).
