Description
Young stars in the Eagle Nebula. Infrared image of the Eagle or M16 Nebula (lower left), showing hot young stars (red). The stars, at the edges of the three Pillars of Creation (dark regions, formed from gas and dust), are usually hidden in dense Evaporating Gaseous Globules (EGGs) at the edges of the pillars. Image taken by the ISAAC instrument on the VLT at Paranal Observatory, Chile.
