Artist's Description

WWII Nazi death camp crematorium. Bones of German women in crematorium ovens at a Nazi concentration camp in Weimar, Germany, during the Second World War (1939-1945). Prisoners of all nationalities were tortured and killed in Nazi concentration camps during the war. The bodies were cremated in ovens like these ones. If the temperature was too low, the bones were not fully burnt. Photograph taken on 14 April 1945 by a soldier of the US 3rd Army after the liberation of the camp.
