Wright brothers' bicycle shop, 1937. The Wright brothers (Orville and Wilbur) are famous for making the first powered, heavier-than-air flight in 1903. Their practical skills came from working on printing presses and bicycles. They opened a bicycle repair and sales shop in 1892, and by 1896 had developed their own bicycle brand. They also developed an oil-retaining wheel hub and coaster brakes. The revenues funded much of their work on gliders and flying machines. This is the shop as it looked in 1937 after being moved to the Henry Ford Museum at Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan, USA. The original location was in Dayton, Ohio.
